Just Jenna

So many of the blogs have been about Madeline, simply because she is doing more and creates funny scenarios to re-tell. ( like calling a lizard a "dinosaur-shark")- see, there I go talking about Madeline again...

I do believe that Jenna needs a little more attention on this blog than has been given to her. She is just over 4 months old now and is growing very well. Even though she started smaller than Mad, she is heavier and longer than Madeline when she was 4 months. Jenna now weighs 16 1/2 lbs and is 26 inches long! She is in the 97 percentile ( just like Madeline) from the 75 % when she was born. She has yet to roll over but can turn from her back to her side. She is smiling and talking a lot. We discovered a while ago that she has a little dimple in her left cheek. This just makes our hearts melt when she uses it with her captivating smile. Although she had dark, thick hair when she was born, it has lightened and thined. She has not rubbed a bald spot of the back of her head...yet... She likes to sleep, a LOT. After she was born I asked my mom what color she thought Jenna's eyes were. She stated "I don't know, her eyes are always closed!"But now we see that they are blue ( what do you expect from 2 blue-eyed parents). Jenna sits up so well that I think she will be sitting on her own before she ever rolls over. I moved Jenna into the "girls room" several weeks ago and spends all but one nap in the crib. ( the afternoon nap is so vital to Madeline's day that we are not willing to put the girls together.)

Stew and I are enjoying our little babe very much! It is very different watching a second child grow up, we are much more relaxed.

When talking about Jenna, we have come to a general consensus:

She certainly is a doll.

Grammy's Jammies

Well, actually it's Gran (Stew's mom) but grammy rhymed with jammies...

Lauren made Madeline a pair of Christmas pj's last year for Christmas, but when we tried them on her they were much too big so I set them aside for this year. I dug them out just a couple of days ago and put them on Madeline after her bath. Oh my, they are soooo cute! I asked her if she liked the jammies that Gran had made her and she emphatically said "yah!" The she wrapped her arms around herself and said "cozy" while rocking side to side. I thought I would share with all of you the delight of the Christmas bear pajama's.

I was just looking at the prevoius entry- at the picture of Jenna with the white hat and jacket on. It's really blurry. I soon discovered after I had taken the picture that there was a small, Madeline-sized finger print on the lense- huh? wonder where that came from?

Punky Mumpkin

We used to call Madeline "Munky Pumpkin" and "Punky Mumpkin"- now it's just Monkey- so we thought we would carve a pumpkin with a monkey face. Stew and Madeline had a great time playing. We ended up taking her to a few homes around the neighborhood for candy. She had such a great time "walking", knocking on doors and saying- "trick or treat". It was very sweet (pardon the pun).

The last few weeks have been busy. We bought Madeline her first pair of winter boots, Jenna is turning 4 months old and is growing like a beautiful flower, Madeline helped pick out toys for the Operation Christmas Child boxes, washing lots of laundry because Jenna likes to throw up... life is interesting... I enjoy it though.

We are having a little birthday party for Madeline on the 26th of November. Her cousin Emily will be coming and Madeline is very excited about that. She also has been chanting "jungle birthday party" over and over again in anticipation for next Sunday. It will definately be a full little house as lots of people love Madeline!!!!( I would have loved to invite more of her little friends, but we just don't have the room...maybe next year.)
