Contortionist

Just for the record, she did this on her own volition. She thought it was hillarious. So did we!

Flower Petals and Pot-E-Training

So, these pictures are totally unrelated, I just liked how the title sounded.
July 7, Madeline was a flowergirl for our friends wedding. She was the most precious little flowergirl I have ever seen (not biased...no way). Anyway, I posted a few pictures that I had with the hopes that I would get some of the professional pictures from the photographer... who happens to be my brother, Darryl. Seriously, if you or anyone you know needs FABULOUS pictures taken, look up my brothers. They are both unbelievably talented at photography!!!!! They caught the bug from my dad who has taken pictures for people and himself for, well, forever.

Yes, so, the next two pictures are of Madeline in a pot. Since being in our new house, the pots and pans are in a low cupboard and very accessible for the girls. I think it is close to Jenna's favorite thing to pull them all out, play with them and then put them all back in the cupboard. Madeline stole the big pot from Jenna and thought it would be funny to sit in it. I thought this ironic due to her potty training on a real potty. Just to make everything clear, she did NOT go potty in the cooking pot! But rather in her own little potty chair.
Anyway, funny pictures- thought I would share!

OH!!!!!!! Just so everyone who reads this knows.... we have a house to rent in Fort Langley!!!!! It is literally right across the road from the school Stew is doing his practicum. God is good.

Pumpkins continued...

I am determined that one day I will have a family picture in which we are all looking in the general direction of the camera with somewhat content looks on our faces...
Anyway,
Here is Jenna on the way home eating an apple chip. For some reason, she decided to be cute and flirty instead of tearful (she was over tired...) She is just too sweet!

To The Pumpkin Patch!

There is a family- run farm not to far from our house. Galen farms. We really wanted to go a pick out a pumpkin or two to carve. We had no idea how fun it would be! We were the first one's (with others) to go on the tractor-driven hay wagon down to the pumpkin patch. Once we were at the patch, we were overwhelmed with the sea of orange. Pumpkins everywhere! Which ones do we choose? We must have walked around for half an hour before the tractor came back to pick us up. I think Madeline was happier to be on the hay ride than in the field picking pumpkins. She said that the field was full of "booby traps". (The semi-rotten vines did make good trip cords!) We came home with two pumpkins. More fun to follow!

Beacon Hill Park... Again

I think that Beacon Hill Park is the most wonderful park I have ever encountered. I love it! We have met geese, ducks, squirrels, seagulls, peacocks and peahens, not to mention a lot of very nice people. Families that have come down to feed the birds will often give Madeline some of the food so that she can feed the birds too. The last time we were there, a little girl gave her a piece of bread.A duck promptly came up to Madeline and snatched it from her grasp. She could not let this go... saying "the duck stole my bread, took it right from my fingers. And then he bite my finger." She said this many times a day for about a week! It's all good now. She hasn't talked about "the incident" for some time.

I came upon Madeline's old rain boots recently and thought that Jenna might like them. I think the pictures above speak for themselves... Good puddle splashing was had! The girls were wet from about the waist down once they were done.- They had a good nap that day...

Artsy

So, I decided a long time ago that I wanted to make some fun names for Jenna and Madeline. I had the letters cut for many weeks before I could decorate them (yeah for cereal boxes)... I am pretty happy with how they turned out! Madeline and Jenna like them too!!

Many posts ago there was one entitled "bucket babes" well, here is a revised version. Auntie Andrea made these buckets for the girls and it has become Madeline's task to dump out the toys and to climb inside. Following very close behind is dear little Jenna. She is pretty proud when she climbs in all by herself.
