Mornings with Mommy

Mornings with Mommy are about to change for the better. Stew, as of today, is finished his practicum!! HOORAY FOR STEW!!!!

This means that he will be taking care of the girls while I pick up full time hours at the hospital. This does not mean I will be gone every day (12 hr shifts and all) but Stew will be spending a lot more time with the girls than he has in a while. Madeline and Jenna have grasped this concept very quickly!! "Mommy has to go to work but daddy with stay with us. He'll take care of us Jenna, don't worry." She says.

An added bonus to this blog..... finally a good picture of the two of them. No funny faces, no closed eyes, no looking away!!! HOORAY for ME!

Stepping UP

I don't really like to pay full price for kids items, but last night at Costco, I couldn't help myself. I realized that Jenna needed new boots... it rains a lot here... and instead of buying ones for her, I thought it would be more thrifty to buy boots for Madeline and give Jenna her old ones. I know, I know, Jenna deserves new stuff too, I guess. BUT she was very excited to receive the boots that Madeline wore and adored. So now Madeline has brown and pink boots, Jenna has the yellow ones and we'll have to wait for little feet to grow before the pink ones become hand-me-downs... you know who you are!!

Play time and Fire trucks

Madeline and Jenna have been getting along very well. I am noticing that the older Jenna is, the more that Madeline wants to be around her. They initiate play all the time and enjoy each others company. I know that this will come in waves, but I really am enjoying it right now. Madeline is very helpful and attends to Jenna's needs... and wants... Lately they have been dancing to Agapeland music- the same ***TAPE*** that I listened to at their age! Jenna grooves like nothing I have seen... It reminds me of Elaine from Seinfeld. It really is a wonderful sight. Just to think that 4 1/2 months ago she wasn't even walking!!

Everyone loves firetrucks! A couple of weeks ago I heard comotion outside of our window and opened the curtains to see this 3 fire engines and water trucks at the school doing a practice drill. There were approximately a dozen firefighters. Some on the ground and some on the roof. They had to put out a fire which was a large piece of RED material. The girls were getting ready for bed, but I knew they would love to see this, so we all just stared for about 5 minutes while they hustled around. Then it became evident that it was past bedtime...

Madeline's New 'Doo

Older...

Wiser...

Just as silly!

She's 3 and one half, full of beans and sugar and is 5 inches shorter.... from her hair!!!
Her golden locks were starting to look straggled and tangly so I took the scissors to them the other day. She loves having her bangs trimmed so it was very exciting to have the rest of her hair trimmed. She sat as still as a Madeline could sit still as I cut away. It is not *that* crooked and as Stew says "she moves to much to notice anyway". She enjoys sweeping her hair side to side as it brushes against her shoulders. She looks older, wiser... but still just as silly!

I have been trying to take a picture of the girls for my sister-in-law's family wall, but am having a hard time getting a good one. The last picture was one of my attempts. They really were having a good time, they only look somber. OHHHH those blue eyes. I can't get enough.
