Time to say Goodbye

For those of you who don't know, Stew and I have sold our house in Kamloops. It was on the market for about 35 days before it was grabbed. We did well, we sold it for 98% of our asking price. The lady really wanted it! This was the main reason we were heading down into the interior. We had to empty our locker in the garage, sign out our tenants, say goodbye to the house that meant so much to us and that we had done SO MANY renovations to, hand in the keys and walk down the stairs for the last time. We were able to visit some friends, more friends came to help with our things (I still couldn't lift due to my injury). I was anticipating this day to be stressful. It turned out to be a very nice day. Goodbye Kamloops.

To Sicamous for Enchantment...

I have been to the Enchanted Forest once as a child and never as an adult... until now. We all had a lot of fun. Jenna was okay until Madeline went into the 3 little pig's homes. She really freaked out. The shoe house put her over the edge. She was shaking with her arms bend and her fists by her face. "NOOOOOOO, noooooooooo house". It was kind of funny, but sad that she wasn't enjoying herself. That is, until we reached "Grandma's house" from little red riding hood. "Gamma's house???" She went inside, and it was fun from then on.

To Sicamous for a Wedding...

I was injured at work at the end of July. Before that I was unable to go to my long-time friend's wedding in Malakwa (near Sicamous). We were planning to head out to my parents that week, but now we could go earlier and be part of that fun day. The wedding was in her parent's yard with chicken's roaming in the grass and sheep baaaaa-ing in the fields. It was a nice setting. Mom and I played the music for the wedding. OHHHH I almost forgot the most interesting part of this story. On our way down, we were part of a trail of hundreds of thousands of cars. During the busiest driving day of the year (Friday of Sept. long weekend) there was so much rain that the TransCanada highway was washed out. A trip that should have taken 5 hours took........10!!!!! This was a bad day to have a standard transmission. Owch! To drive from Chilliwack to Hope should take around 45 minutes. It took us 3 hours. So, we ended up getting to my parents house at 1:30 Saturday morning. Thank goodness for our portable DVD player! The girls were actually very good and they slept 1/2 of the way. At least it was a nice day to be stuck in traffic...

Bikes and Bunnies

We were able to get Cassidy back in July (He was staying at a friend's house in Kamloops). Madeline and Jenna went to my parents house for one week. We switched the girls for my bunny at the toll booth and my dad made a statement to the effect of who's getting the better deal here? They brought the girls back down here in time for Jenna's birthday party. While they were gone, Stew and I quickly compiled a list of "things to do without children". We completed it too!! We saw Cirque du Soliel, went shopping, saw movies, went to restaurants and relaxed... ahhhh. Meanwhile, Jenna was very ill at my parents house :(
When the girls returned, they were (and still are) obsessed with Cass. Jenna crawls into his cage with him and picks him up. Madeline just likes to smother him... and SIT on him!!?? I mean, he is really soft and warm... good for a pillow... Anyway, the cuddly bunny pictures were taken by Stew. A nice moment between rabbit and child.

A while ago we found this great, old tricycle from Toy Traders for cheap!! We thought it would be perfect for Jenna to ride, and it is... but we can't get Madeline off!
