Creative Streak

So, I have this deep seeded need to make. I am creative!!! I am just overshadowed by the Artist that I live with. Most people don't know I have a creative side. Well, instead of buying something for my girls, I decided to make something. Since they both now have their own single bed- "big girl beds" I wanted to make something pretty for them. I made the purple pillow for Emily and the pink one for Madeline. I made a totally different silver pillow for Jenna- I just haven't taken a picture of it yet... I had fun. I hope the girls enjoy them. Thank you mom and dad for my sewing machine gift of almost 9 years ago. (nursing grad present)

PreK Christmas Pagent

Madeline was the Angel Gabriel who tells Mary that God has shown favor on her to carry Jesus. Her lines were "God's sending a baby and you'll be His mother, He'll be our Savior a King like no other." She heard it once or twice and had it memorized. If I asked her if she wanted to work on her lines, she would tell me "no, I already know them..." She said them perfect. They were clear and well paced and with enthusiasm. But, would you expect any different?

Christmas 2008

Jenna is not to sure about the lights...

The girls had much fun with "their" ornaments

"Is it Christmas yet?"- Madeline- about 12 times per day...

Christmas went very well in our home... for the people who were in my home...
I was the poor sucker who had to work. It was truly a horrible shift too. Anyway, trying to make the most of it, when I came home I was greeted by my parents, brothers (and their spouses) and my beautiful niece and nephew. Steve's doggies stayed home. They were busy playing guitar hero. Stew tried for the first time and did very well. He did not get booed off stage. Then uncle Steve tried... he did not do so well. Madeline pipes up and says "everyone is better than Uncle Stevie". Poor Uncle Coo-coo. That was the joke of the evening.
Madeline and Jenna are still at the age where they don't really understand dates or days of the week, so because I worked Christmas eve and Christmas day and Boxing day night, we opened our gifts on Boxing day morning. We controlled things by having one person open one gift at a time. The girls were quite good about this rule. (The same rule that I grew up with). Thank you Grandparents for the wonderful gifts.

The nice part is that because we have a basement den, we were able to purchase a sofa bed for guests. My parents stayed at our house. It was so nice to come home and see my mommy and daddy waiting for me. This made up for the nutty shifts at the hospital...
